Kanye West (born June 8, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an African-American hip hop producer and rapper from Chicago, Illinois who currently resides in Hoboken, New Jersey. A car crash on October 23, 2002, when he fell asleep at the wheel while driving home from the studio, left his jaw fractured in three places, and nearly killed him.
